Chocolate Crinkle Cookies!

FAMILymade recipes brought to you by

Hello, FamilyMade friends!

Mykayla Skinner here and I'm thrilled to share a slice of my family's holiday joy with you.

With my little girl's first Christmas on the horizon, it's more exciting than ever to pass down our cherished traditions, and that includes making our all-time favorite holiday treat – Chocolate Crinkles!

Every year we eagerly anticipate this sweet treat and they’re a staple year after year. So, tie your apron, preheat your oven, and let's bake some holiday magic together!

Let's talk about one of the key ingredients in these Chocolate Crinkles – the eggs.

For this family recipe, I always choose Eggland’s Best eggs. Why? Because when it comes to baking, especially something as special as holiday treats, quality matters.

Eggland’s Best eggs stand out with their superior nutrition – they contain six times more Vitamin D and ten times more Vitamin E compared to ordinary eggs. These eggs not only add a wholesome richness to our cookies but also ensure we're giving our loved ones the best. So, remember, great baking starts with great ingredients!

Let's Get Cooking!

Recipe: MyKayla’s Chocolate Crinkles

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 Eggland’s Best eggs, large

  • ¾ cup butter, melted

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 6 ounces mini semisweet chocolate chips

  • ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, cocoa powder and sugar. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.

  2. In a medium size bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Use a large spoon to slowly add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the chips.

  3. Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours.

  4. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Form the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll them in confectioners’ sugar.

  5. Bake the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet for 10 minutes. Set the baking sheet on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then lightly dust cookies with remaining confectioners’ sugar. Transfer the cookies directly onto the rack to cool thoroughly and enjoy!
